If your Audi automatic transmission has been having problems changing gears or never seems to know which gear it should be in, you should try to reset the transmission setting to factory defaults. If your Audi is an older model year, disconnecting the battery will reset the ECU and Transmission modules. Disconnecting the battery will not reset your ECU and transmission on newer vehicles. Instead, try the following procedure. The next simple step is to reset Audi by pressing the gas pedal.
Reset The Computer Audi A8l
Ensure no fault codes are stored in the ECU or transmission module. You will need to go under Engine [01] and Transmission [02], go to Basic Settings, and reset both Kick Down Alignment and Throttle Body Alignment.
Resetting the transmission on an Audi vehicle can help to fix certain transmission problems and improve overall performance. The transmission control module (TCM) is a computer that controls the transmission, which is responsible for shifting gears and managing the power transfer from the engine to the wheels.
This procedure will return the ECU and transmission to factory settings. While carrying the reset will not cause any damage, do not expect it to cure all problems. You may still experience problems after resetting the transmission to factory settings. It is worth considering updating the software for the transmission control module. It can sometimes resolve erratic shifting. This is a procedure that needs to be performed by your Audi dealer.
Therefore I could use my phone to text etc. and it was important as well because once I got everything all working, I didn't feel like dealing with the MyAudi app which popped up and needed a reset too and I didn't have the time!
Adaptive cruise control (ACC) offers relief to drivers especially on long trips and in stop-and-go traffic. It maintains a preset distance to the vehicle ahead by automatically accelerating and braking. The driver can choose from five distance levels and adjust acceleration and control system dynamics with Audi drive select.
Multicollision brake assist automatically brakes the vehicle in the event of an accident, reducing the danger of skidding as well as the risk of further collisions. The function uses the relevant sensors to detect a collision; the severity of the crash and the speed reduction are calculated by the safety computer. If defined thresholds are exceeded, the safety computer sends a corresponding message to the Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC) control unit to trigger an automatic brake application, taking the system status into account. If the driver accelerates, the vehicle is not automatically braked. The same is true if the ESC, the brake system or the electrical system are not functioning.
Ultrasonic sensors measure the distance, the MMI display depicts it visually. A white segment shows a detected object outside of the driving path. Red segments represent detected objects within the driving path. The virtual driving path display also shows lateral guide lines which are precalculated based on the currently selected steering input. Increasing frequency of the audible warning indicates that the distance to the obstacle is decreasing.
Crossing assist recognizes critical cross traffic in front of the car and warns the driver of it both visually and audibly. At speeds up to 10 km/h (6.2 mph), it initiates a short braking action when needed. Crossing assist is active at vehicle speeds up to 30 km/h (18.6 mph). It uses data from the zFAS central computer, with the most important information here supplied by the mid-range radars and the laser scanner. If the driver wants to ease into an intersection or exit with poor visibility, he or she can push the parking button. This sends the images from the 360 degree cameras to the MMI monitor. They drastically expand the field of view, and the driver can choose from among multiple views.
Due to the more realistic test conditions, the consumption and CO2 emission values measured are in many cases higher than the values measured according to the NEDC. This may result in corresponding changes in vehicle taxation since September 1, 2018. Additional information about the differences between WLTP and NEDC is available at www.audi.de/wltp
The throttle position sensor reports the position of the gas pedal to the computer in your car (Engine Control Unit). The computer then determines the position of the throttle plate. It also calculates the amount of air flow to the engine and the amount of fuel to be injected for the required ratio of air-fuel mixture.
The throttle position sensor also controls the shifting of the gears. If this sensor stops working, the car's computer will not be able to calculate the right amount of fuel to be injected in the system. It may not be able to change the gears. Your car will not get the right amount of power. It may not even start. The Check Engine light may come on.
The advantage of this process is that you can use a different engine computer than the one your vehicle originally came with. That new ECM can be remapped to operate with your specific engine, and use the available maps and the way the way your old ECM operated to be very accurately tailored to the requirements of your engine.
Reflashing and remapping an ECM is what both allows you to make your engine and vehicle more to your liking, and allows software for different vehicles to be added to different engine computers. At Car Computer Exchange, we remap computers to do just that. Allow you to get a repaired and refurbished ECM with OEM software from nearly any manufacturer.
Using the current version of VCDS simply click on the SRI Reset button. VCDS will automatically interrogate the cluster to determine what if any reset parameters are available. Click this link for more information.
Audi A3 Oxygen Sensor and Catalytic Monitors not resetting. My 2006 Audi A3 had minor repair since the check engine light was on. After 300+ miles of driving on the freeway and off, from cold engine, etc., the check engine light is still off , but the CAT and Oxygen monitors are still not READY. Can a smog repair shop simulate the apparently difficult to attain "driving conditions" (one condition for another monitor was to get car to 5000 RPM for a sustained period of time)? I have spent days trying to do this. Thanks!
END DRIVE CYCLENOTE: Remember, clearing DTC's or interrupting power to the ECM after the readiness monitors have been reset to "Ready" will require that the Drive Cycle be repeated.Completing your Audi's drive cycle successfully one time should reset most drive cycle monitors to a "Complete" or "Ready" status. There are however "two trip" monitors, which require that the drive cycle be successfully completed two times in order to become "Ready".

So you can directly follow the prompt to input 5000KM,180D. For VW, Audi models, setting cycle and mileage are as follow:
Q1: Can VW, Audi models reset by manual method?A1: Small maintenance for some models can reset, e.g.: A4L, but manual reset can only reset according to default value, most VW, Audi models the default value of small maintenance is 15000KM,365D. This cycle is obviously unsuitable for the environment of China. In addition most models do not support manual reset. Big maintenance (30000KM, 730D) must use the device to reset.
Q2: Does X-200 support the new model A8L, A7, A3, A1, Tiguan, Magotan in 2012?A2: Support all, the latest VW, Audi adopt UDS deal, at present, most devices do not support checking and resetting for them. But X-200 can do that.
